Happy Birthday Rabindranath Tagore who was born in 7th May 1861. Bhanu Singha Thakur is his pen name. He is known as “Kabiguru”,” Biswakabi.”

He was poet, musician,artist, philosopher etc. Tagore wrote his first poem at the age of 8. At the age of 16, Tagore published his first large poetry. Tagore wanted to become a barrister but did not do well in school. At the age off 22 Tagore and Mrinalini Devi got married. Mrinalini Devi was only 10 years old then.
Tagore visited around 30 countries between 1878 and 1932 to spread his thoughts and ideas. He wanted to make his literary known to those people who did not speak in Bengali. Tagore was mainly a poet but contributed in all the section of writing. He wrote many dramas, songs. He was also a painter and became a celebrated painter at the age of 60.

”Gitanjali” which was wrote by Tagore was published in 14th August 1910.” Gitanjali” was published in English in 1912. Actually “Gitanjali” is a collection of poems of 104 pages. Tagore received Nobel Prize in Literature for “Gitanjali” in 1913. He was the first Asian to win the Nobel Prize in Literature.
Last life-
Tagore is only person who has written anthems for three countries of India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. Tagore was so ill in the last ages of his life. In 1937, he lost consciousness. He was in coma for a long time. At the age of 80 he died in 7th August in 1941. He is an inspiration for all the poets of the world. He gave ourselves an outstanding thinking of poetry, drama,songs and many other parts of our life.
