When planning new lessons and activities it is important to remember that we should ‘value students’ cultural and linguistic resources and view this knowledge as capital to build upon rather than as a barrier to learning (Aceves & Orosco, 2014, p.7). Having set standards and goals in order will provide direction as we assist the surgical students’ progress. This will show their ongoing achievement. Utilizing the SMART goals in Computer Networks Assignment Help is one genius way to achieve this outcome. It allows us to focus on the student as well as the content, while at the same time collecting informative information.
Because I am a college instructor, and all student are adults, we do not speak with parents. We must utilize what is used at the school without changing the Core Curriculum. I don’t expect to speak to anyone other than the student because of FERPA. The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) (20 U.S.C. & 1232g; 34 CFR Part 99) is a federal law that protects the privacy of student for Autocad Assignment Help education records. The law applies to all schools that receive funds under an applicable program for the U.S. Department of Education (CDC, 2020). Adult students are held accountable and we must only speak to them, even when parents call in concern. An eligible student is one who has reached age 18 or attends a school beyond the high school level (CDC, 2020).
SMART goals are specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and timely. Creating a lesson plan requires implementation of SMART Goals, Blooms Taxonomy and Learning Domains and with the students in mind. These plans should be engaging and current. Huitt, (n.d.) Blooms Taxonomy states the lesson should provide the project management assignment help the levels of knowledge, comprehension, application, analysis, synthesis and evaluation. These action verbs of recalling, translating, problem solving, classifying, planning and final assessments are all a part of my lesson plan in post-secondary school. Ullamn, E. Brunn says, “While these approaches include what we want to teach, they don’t often contain how we’re going to teach it” (2011). It’s the “how,” that makes all the difference in whether students actually learn. Effective lesson planning requires the teacher to determine three essential components: the objective, the body, and a reflection.
- 1 SMART goal to implement culturally responsive teaching practices to best meet the needs of all students in your classroom.
Culturally responsive (or relevant) teaching has been described as “a pedagogy that empowers
students intellectually, socially, emotionally, and politically by using cultural referents to impart knowledge, skills, and attitudes” (Ladson-Billings, 1994, p. 382). Students should be able to perform 48 Kinesthetic skills within 8 months prior to their clinical rotation. They will
practice weekly in school lab and practice daily at home before performing their skill for grading.
- 1 SMART goal that will help you gain a better understanding of families so that you can connect instruction to students’ experiences.
For students, SMART goals can not only boost their academic achievement but also set strong future goals. And, by involving parents, you can encourage family engagement along the way! When students have goals as a guideline, they’re more likely to enjoy learning, feel self-motivated, and earn higher grades (Lawlor, 2021). Because I cannot not communicate with the students family, I will encourage them to invite their family to watch and critique their skills as they practice before grading, in school. As I watch them on camera, I will be tracking their performance to provide weekly data in perdisco assignment help on improvement. In two days prior to each skills grading performance. I will meet with each student to ask how they feel about practicing at home in front of family prior to their upcoming checkoff, give them feedback of the data recording I collected
and ask if they have any concerns.
- 1 SMART goal that involves collaboration with community members outside of the school environment to meet the needs of your identified population(s) and that contributes to positive social change.
During the Final Practicum which is the performance of all 48 skills combined, I will invite 5 (PAC) Program Advisory Committee members from the community, to view the students performances. Passing this Final Skill Practicum qualifies them for Clinical rotation. By working together, schools, families, and communities can prepare for a more promising future. In urban communities struggling against violence, unemployment, and deteriorating institutions, school community collaboration offers hope for those who may have given up on the social institutions in their neighborhoods and cities ( Leaders for Tomorrows Schools).
- 1–2 SMART goals that involve collaboration among your school community, families, and community. At least one SMART goal should include technology resources that are available for family use within the community.
With my students as adults, they can only collaborate among classmates and other programs. I will team together the Surgical Technology and Respiratory students. In this collaboration the students will perform their role as a Surgical Technologist during a C-Section delivery. The Respiratory students role is to take the baby after delivery. Each team will work on their patients in the same room in a collaborative effort amongst invited open campus guests and perspective students for each program. During this event all social media and hospital members are invited to see the basic skill set of each student from the different programs. Check out the best entertainment source ifuntv.
